The path to eternal life begins with Christ

Where do you stand in your relationship with Christ?  For that matter, do you have a relationship with him?  My friends, the time is here and the time is now for the days are growing shorter and if there is one certainty in your life, I pray it is a knowledge that you belong to the Savior of this world.  Everything else is temporary and will pass away.  The only reward that lives on is for those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Jesus taught on this subject in Matthew 7:12-14. There we read where a crowd had followed Jesus  as he went up on a mountainside and began to teach his disciples. He spoke of different topics but then he focused in on what it took to be saved as he said:

“Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”  

I am sure that it got their attention when he said only a FEW find it!  Jesus continued to speak  saying that a good tree will bear good fruit but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  It is a warning to  those who think they are saved but who are living  no differently than the world.  He said:

“Not everyone who says to me  ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you.  Away from me you evil doers’.”  Matthew 7:21-23

 The fact is that if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, your life should give evidence to a change.  You should not be able to sin as easily as before and your desire should be to follow in the leading of the Holy Spirit.  It does not mean that you won’t fall or that you will never sin, but it does mean that your heart has been changed and you have turned from the old ways of sin.  If you continue to hang out with the same lost people that you know are trouble than you will have a problem.  Without a doubt, you will be led back into the life that will be your downfall!  You will be on the wide road that leads to destruction.  You will lose everything! 

When you seek instead to follow Christ and to live in his light, you will receive the promise of a new life and blessings to make it through this world.  You will get the peace to know that all things will be filtered through the hands of Christ before it touches you.  You will understand that all of your problems will be used by God for your good and will make you stronger in your faith.  You will find that Christ will be with you in all of your battles.  And most important, you will know that when you die, Jesus will meet you and say, “Well done my good and faithful servant”.  You will then be a joint heir with him in heaven for eternity.  

There is always forgiveness at the cross of Jesus.  It does not matter how far you have fallen or how badly you have messed up in your life for he can and will restore you to wholeness.  Your weakness and failures can’t stop him from giving you a future with hope and a life that is worth living.  The Lord knows what you need and he knows how to give you what is good if you will trust him.  But you must want to follow him.  Let go of your past mistakes and take hold of the blessed life that will give you peace and joy.  Let your families and your children know that you now belong to Jesus.  Never again do you have to sell yourself short to the enemy.  You have been redeemed!  You matter to God and he cares for you with a love that will never end.  Start over today.  Give your life to Christ and watch and see what happens.   

Remember that you can never be so lost that Jesus cannot find you.  He knows where you are right now and he wants to give you his strength.    You are loved!

Christian girl begs state: Don’t let them kill me!

Judge decides fate of honor student, cheerleader who fled Muslim parents

A young Christian runaway in foster care awaits her hearing tomorrow when Florida authorities will decide whether she will be forced to return to her Muslim parents – whom she says will kill her for converting to Christianity.

Fathima Rifqa Bary, 17, an honor student and cheerleader, was raised in a Muslim family in Columbus, Ohio. She became a Christian four years ago as a result of her interactions with children at school.

Atlas Shrugs‘ Pamela Geller has followed Bary’s case closely, reporting that the girl’s friends accompanied her to the school counselor after they noticed bruises covering her arms and legs that allegedly resulted from beatings by her father and brother.

“The middle school, in a serious dereliction of duty, did not report these beatings to child welfare services,” Geller reported. “Beatings were random, violent, unprovoked. Take, for example, when Rifqa and her father Mohamed were driving in the car. He would force her to wear the hijab (head covering), which she hated. In her discomfort she would slouch down, embarrassed, and her father would haul off and sock her in the face so that she never forgot to sit up straight in her costume. The beatings were regular and so much a part of the landscape of Rifqa’s life, she became inured to them …”

Bary, a native of Sri Lanka, hitchhiked to a bus station and ran away from home on July 19 because she says her family will murder her in what is known as an honor killing. In Islamic tradition, an honor killing is the customary slaughter of a person who is believed to have brought dishonor upon his or her family.

The Christian teen turned to pastors Blake and Beverly Lorenz of Global Revolution Church in Orlando, Fla., whom she met through Facebook. She has been placed in foster care by the Florida Department of Children and Families, or DCF, awaiting a decision tomorrow on whether her case will be heard in Florida or in Ohio. Her jurisdiction hearing is now scheduled for 3:15 p.m. EST in Orlando’s juvenile court.

Fox News reported that legal experts have said she will almost certainly be forced to return to her parents’ home in Ohio where she will be required to live with her parents since Ohio does not have an emancipation statute. According to the report, Florida has such a statute, but it requires parental consent.

The teen’s attorney, John Stemberger, filed a petition for adjudication of dependency on Aug 18.

     If Satan were smart would it not be better for him to give all the things of this world to the true children of God?  That way they would become numb to the Truth, blind to the Christ, deaf to the Word and completely mesmerized by every sort of gadget and trinket.  Instead, he gives more to those who are already blind, yet think they are not, and he gives persecution to those who are true followers of Christ, thus leading them into greater worship, greater prayer and a greater faith!

Dirty sinner and a Guilty wretch; Blood bought and Used of God.

Before Christ –

            Before God’s gracious and merciful regeneration of my life, I was a sinner to the fullest definition.  I was a liar, a thief, an adulterer, a drunk, a malicious gossip and a flat out God hater.  In my use, or abuse, of women, I was truly a murderer at heart – not physically, but spiritually.  I cared only for my selfish, materialistic and prideful arrogance.  I used profanity as communication, anger as a lifestyle and deceit as my justification.  I grew up in the church and yet denied God.  But praise be to God that He showed me, a miserable sinner, His grace, mercy and love.  Only to Him is credit due!

His wake up –

            On May 18^th of 2001, God woke me from my stupor.  While talking with Pastor Larry Sequin (Calvary de Taos, Taos, NM), God’s righteous conviction began to burn into my soul.  I remember the exact verse that God used to execute His final blow of conviction just before His salvation.  The blow left me never walking the same, talking the same nor acting the same.  1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (ESV)  My life has never been the same.

Today –

            Although I am not perfect, I am a new creation in Christ Jesus.  Praise be to God that He convicts me in my weaknesses and convicts me through His word.  I desire that my will comes into full alignment with His will.  God has placed in me a desire to seek His fullness and glorify Him in all that I do.  I may fail, but I will not remain as a failure.  My prayer is that God continues to convict me of my unrighteousness and that I bless His name for it.  It is my prayer that I always follow hard after God and be sanctified through His Spirit.  It is my prayer that God holds me to the accountability as He does Ezekiel (read Ezekiel chapter 3). 

God why me?

            Often I have asked this very question?  I have many times said to the Lord, “Lord how is it that you are using me is such ways?  I don’t have a clue what I am doing?  I think you have the wrong man.  O’ Lord help me!”  Truth is the Lord can use rocks and donkeys to speak for Him.  For the last couple of years, the Lord has brought all types of people my way.  He has brought the homeless, addicts, demon oppressed and possessed.  He has brought the sick, the tired and the weary.  More times than not, He has brought men my way.  Not just any men, but men who profess to be Christians. 

            These men come straight out of the church setting.  On the surface many look good, act good and present a great picture on Sunday mornings, but there’s a problem, it is only an outward appearance.  I have heard these men tell me they are hooked on pornography, alcohol, drugs, abusive to their wife, adulterers, into the party scene and orgies and have severe demon issues.  But why are these men coming out of the professing church?  This is a question worth asking and one you ought to ponder for some time.  Maybe we will dive into this more in the future, but this I will say, it is not on the part of Christ, for He is not impotent to save.

Challenge to introspect –

            Test yourself and see if Christ Himself is indeed a reality in your life.  If so, live in the reality of having been saved.  The reality of experiencing Christ’s conversion is to be, as a style of life, about the Father’s business and in unison with the Holy Spirit.  It is good, quite literally, to pray and morn for the souls of the lost. When morning comes to an end, go out with the full gospel of truth and fight hell over those souls, expecting to win.  Good biblical preaching is a warring with hell, preaching with uncontrolled passion, speaking boldly in the Spirit, declaring the full gospel and pleading for souls to repent.  Anything short of this is worldly, of the flesh and a disgrace to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

            I highly urge all believers to spend much time with the Lord over Matthew 7:21-23.  These words of Christ are a warning to every professing believer!  May these words never be spoken of you, “… I never knew you.”  The only assurance you have in your Christian salvation is this, are you walking in the newness of the Lord Jesus Christ today, right now?  Is the hope, the living Christ, indeed in you?  Examine yourself – unless you are afraid that the truth is not in you – 2 Corinthians 13:5.  Do you know Him, or just know of Him?

This video was shared with me from a dear brother back home!  Thank you so much brother!  Watch the whole thing.  Please share this with people as you wish.  Unfortunately, this is already a reality of our country, but never fear, God will repay His wrath at His perfect time in His perfect way.  What are we to do?  Simple, read Matthew 5:43-45 – this can only be done in and by the Spirit of God.  If this is not something that you understand, please seek the Lord in solitude, with His written word, until He gives you peace about this.  We are to supplement our faith and be diligent to make our calling and election sure!  Are you doing this?  Are you preparing yourselves and building up your faith, not by just going to some building once a week, but through prayer and true fellowship of the saints?  Hard days are coming fast!
